Questions Asked about Street Pavers

I'm going to answer each question in the order they appeared.

  1. Traffic Noise:
    Traffic noise is not a problem, according to the manufacturer. When driving within the speed limit the pavers I have driven on are very quiet.
  2. Speed Bumps:
    Speed bumps could be installed. They have proven to be not very helpful in slowing speeders, and are being considered for removal in the future.
  3. Tripping:
    Tripping is not a problem as the pavers are interlocking and virtually as smooth as blacktop.
  4. Full Roads:
    Various country clubs have pavers in portions of their roads, but none have full road pavers.
  5. Guarantees:
    Guarantees obviously are only as good as the manufacturer. The one we have spoken with has been in business for 15 years.
  6. Our country club will not contribute.
  7. Paver Colors:
    There are a variety of colors that would have to be decided on by all the members. *See sidebar brochures
  8. Stains and paver replacements:
    Regular traffic will darken the pavers minimally, but would still look much better than blacktop. Badly stained pavers can be replaced individually.
  9. Property Value:
    Let's agree that $25,000 is too much of an increase, how about $10-15,000? This is still a substantial increase plus a much more beautiful street and appearance.
  10. Financing:
    If the owners approve the pavers, we believe financing can be arranged at approximately $70 per month for 5 years.
  11. Percentage of vote needed:
    We would probably need a 67% approval.
  12. The process includes:
    The price of $3,500 per condo includes complete removal of the old blacktop and substrata. Pavers will require new substrata, additional filling, and will be set in sand. This is all included in the price. Stocking extra pavers would be a good idea. No clubhouse parking will be done. That portion belongs to the country club. You can have pavers and blacktop butt up next to each other. Pavers, however, cannot be set into the blacktop.
  13. Curbs and Gutters:
    Concrete curbs and gutters will not be replaced.

  15. Bumpy Pavers:
    The pavers we are using are smooth interlocking pavers and are not bumpy or rounded.
