Dear HOA Board, We gave owned a home at Woodhaven for over 20 years and applaud your enforcement of the rules and regulations. One area that was not addressed in your newsletters, but is one of the biggest detractors from the appearance of the neighborhood is the proliferation of so-called yard art, both in the front of condos and on the patio areas. While we realize that people have a variety of tastes, the scope of the dogs, sheep, friars, frogs, etc. that adorns the condos in full view makes our neighborhood look like trailer park trash. Most associations have rules about where this type of "art" can be exhibited and it is not in front and back of every condo in full view, but rather in enclosed areas where only the homeowner can enjoy their purchase. If we are going to enforce certain rules, please make sure that this is addressed as well as it is an eyesore as you walk around. Our quarters are just too close for the menagerie that exists. 1.II Item 11 Pots or other items are not allowed on patio walls. No artificial plants allowed on patios.
What are "other" items? Are patio walls on patios only or entrance walls as well?
I think this needs clarification. If I had my way, no do dah's, flags, blowup snowmen, etc would be allowed. What is cute to one person is an eye sore to another. I think personal decorations should be inside one's residence, not outside. A paver street may add value to each residence, but the paraphenalia on many entrances and patios definitely de-value our homes. Since buying 4 years ago, it has become a bit trailer park looking to me. It looks junky and I think if you asked any good realtor, they'd agree! You would not find this allowable at any of the "nice" clubs.
2.III Swimming pools Why not qualified guests at all times? Why other (non-residing) guests at all? Who in the world could enforce 6 times? What about the landscapers using the bathrooms at the pools? Do they not have an outhouse or something in the maintenacne area?
The pools should be for those living there and house guests.
We agree with the rules changes, with the exception of Sect VII D r: parking. I presume we can still park our vehicle on the street in front of condo during the day. I agree with not allowing crummy looking vehicles from cluttering up streets and driveways. But I want to be able to park on street if going to and from store, etc.
